A Dieter Dreams
Icing on the stars frosting on the moon add some sprinkles
lick the spoon the fork the knife cut a piece have a slice
eat the dawn the dusk eat the evening if you must delicious
confections sugar reflections the kinds of things you find
in bakeries in factories the fruity things that grow in nurseries
caught looking caught wishing caught wanting more the sky
an open candy store with all the things you want for free so
luscious so pretty like the perfect cake your mother used to
make as piñatas spew their fringe-bellied fire hear that thumping
sound scramble on the ground know that all this may never
quell this eternal hell your sweet tooth this nasty nagging truth.
