Carol Berg - "Pink Camellia" : Carol Berg has published poems in Pebble Lake Review, Rhino, The Journal of the Association of Mothering, and The Furnace Review. Currently an MFA student at Stonecoast, she has an MA in English Literature. Carol also works part-time as a Writing Tutor at Pine Manor College.

Paula Marafino Bernett - "No Room for Failure" : Paula Marafino Bernett, a poet living in Taos, New Mexico collaborated with Dinah Worman, an artist whose work is featured at the Act I gallery in Taos. Recently, their collaborative work 'Enter the Painting' was accepted by Rattle Magazine. The work appears on the cover and within the summer 2008 Visual Poetry issue.

Carol Brockfield - "Adephagia" and "Stone City, Iowa" : Carol Brockfield lives in Southern Oregon, where she heads the Rogue Valley Chapter of the Oregon State Poetry Association. She organizes public readings and promotes poetry wherever and whenever. A past member of the Napa Poets Collective, in Napa, California, her poems have been printed in _Poets of the Valley_ and _Harvest,_ published by Napa College Enclave. Her poem "To One Absent" will appear in the Summer 2008 Edition of flashquake.

S.J. Chambers - "Ecce Ancilla Domini!" : S.J. Chambers lives in Tallahassee, FL, where she earned a B.A. in Art History from Florida State University. When she's not watching the Spanish moss grow, she writes fiction, poetry, and essays - most of which have appeared in Mungbeing and Up Against the Wall magazines.

Elizabeth P. Glixman - "She Could Not Escape From This Story Even Though She Knew It Was Not True" and "I am Not Small Like An Ant, Prays Toulouse Lautrec" : Elizabeth P. Glixman is a poet and writer. Her poetry and fiction credits include The Pedestal Magazine, Wicked Alice Poetry Journal, LauraHird.com, In Posse Review, Frigg, Snow Monkey, Her Circle E-zine, 3 A.M. Magazine, Muse Apprentice Guild, Women of the Web: A Poetry Anthology and Tough Times Companion, a publication of The Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. Daniel Hudon - "The Man in the Bowler Hat", "The Human Condition", "Gigantic Days", "The Month of the Grape Harvest" and "The Song of the Violet" : Originally from Canada, Daniel Hudon teaches natural science at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. He has published short prose most recently in Cafe Irreal, Cezanne's Carrot, The Blue Print Review, Neon, Eclectica and Pology Magazine. Upcoming publications include Bayou Magazine, Avatar and Riffing on Strings, an anthology of creative writing about string theory. He is working an extended cycle of poems inspired by the paintings of Rene Magritte.

Zyskandar A. Jaimot - "your basic scent…" : Zyskandar A. Jaimot has been published in the Americas, Europe, Canada, Asia and even the recesses of far-away New Joisey. Residing in Orlando, FL., he endures sleepless hot nights in his airless cubicle to awake at dawn to wipe spent sonnets from his flesh.

Michael Lee Johnson - "Manic is the Dark Night" : Mr. Michael Lee Johnson lives in Itasca, IL., after spending 10 years in Edmonton, Alberta Canada during the Vietnam War era. He is a freelance writer, and poet. He has been published in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, Turkey, Fuji, Nigeria, Algeria, Africa, India, United Kingdom, Republic of Sierra Leone, Thailand, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Michael Lee Johnson is a member of Poets & Writers, Inc and Directory of American Poets & Fictions Writers. He is the author of The Lost American: From Exile to Freedom, and is now the publisher / editor of Poetic Legacy, and Birds By My Window: Willow Tree Poems .

Andrew Nicoll - "Lady Agnew of Lochnaw Sits for her Portrait" : Andrew Nicoll, 46, is a journalist living and working in Scotland where he can go to visit Lady Agnew often. His stories and poems have appeared previously in Hiss Quarterly and a number of other fine journals. His novel The Good Mayor has sold around the world and will be published by Bantam Dell in New York in the summer of 2009.

Lynne Shapiro - "Door to deKooning" : Lynne Shapiro is a writer and teacher who lives in Hoboken, New Jersey with her husband and miserable, rotten, foul-mouthed teenage son. She has recently been published in Terrain.org, Myslexia: For Woman Who Write, and Switchback.

J.D. Smith - "Pace Magritte" : Since his previous appearance in The Hiss Quarterly he has been awarded a Fellowship in Poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts, and is currently circulating two collections.
